Llandudno postcard Monday 28th August

We started our holiday in Llandudno. After a cooked breakfast we walked down the esplanade to the pier, where we enjoyed the stalls and managed to buy a few souvenirs as well. We then went into the town for lunch and tried out some stores there too, for some more shopping. It was a lovely sunny, warm day. Later we moved to our second hotel in the National Park.
Tuesday 29th August

Today we went for a railway journey on the narrow guage Talyllyn Steam Railway. The journey was in their traditional carriages of the steam train period. We had lunch before taking the return journey on the train.
Later, we enjoyed a very nice 3 course meal back at our hotel

We explored the area around the mountains today. The mountain gives it's name to the National Park. We couldn't go up to Mount Snowdonia because all the tickets were sold out but we had a good look at it from the bottom and took in the scenery. We also enjoyed a rail trip around the lake before a scenic drive back to our hotel. The views were amazing.
Thursday 31st August

It was raining this morning so we decided to go to Anglesey. Anglesey is an Island in Wales. It is known for it's beaches and ancient sites. Once there we saw the railway with the longest station name in the world! It also has a very big tourist shop, so we spent some time shopping in their too! The weather was better for us in Anglesey and we ate ice-creams in the sun, on the sea front.

Gelert's grave Friday 1st September

Today the weather was much better so we decided to take a trip to Betws-y-Coed. This is a village in the Conwy valley which is renowned as a tourist spot. We investigated the local shops and cafes and enjoyed a light lunch. We then went to Beddgelert, a village in the Snowdonia area of Gwynedd. We heard all about the legend of Prince Llewellyn and his legendary hound Gelert and saw his grave stone.
