Saturday 13th August

We all met up today and made our way to Blackpool, everyone was really excited! After unpacking at the hotel, we all got to know each other and had our evening meal. Then it was time to settle into our rooms and head to bed.

Sunday 14th August

Today we went for a stroll up to the pier to explore the local area, with Lee buying a new hat and Charlene getting a stylish pair of sunglasses. It was a really hot day, so we made sure to stop for some drinks and an ice cream! Later on in the evening, we danced to lots of songs at our hotel and we had a blast. We all loved seeing the Red Arrows flying over the beach earlier on, what a action-packed day!

Monday 15th August

It was Charlene’s birthday today! We kicked things off with a trip to the Sealife Centre, it was really cool seeing all of the different fish. After our lunch we had a play on the arcade machines in the amusement centre. We celebrated Charlene’s birthday in the evening with plenty of balloons and a cake made by the hotel’s chef! Afterwards, we took a late-night stroll along the South Pier, it was very colourful and fun!

Tuesday 16th August

Today we went to visit Madame Tussauds and we had a great time there. Leo managed to get his picture taken with Spiderman, whilst Michael had his picture taken with lots of gorgeous popstars! Charlene grabbed a photo with Thor (her future husband!) whilst Michael was busy lifting up a car! We all had a drink in the Roves Return Inn, Coronation Street’s famous pub!

Wednesday 17th August

We had a great time at the circus today, the trapeze acts were really good, everyone was so talented! The dancing performances were brilliant as well. We all laughed out loud at the clown show, there were so many great photos and memories to make!

Thursday 18th August

Today we were off to the Blackpool Dungeon, although some of us were more sensible and decided to go shopping (along with coffee and cakes!). Michael chose to get a funny joke book, whereas Martin enjoyed his delicious coffee and Colin made two new friends at the coffee shop! Leo, Charlene and Michael found the dungeon scary at times, but everyone was very brave and actually enjoyed it! We spent the night dancing to our hotel’s singer, with Martin and Leo hopping onto the stage to become her backup dancers! Everyone clapped at Leo’s performance in his gold shirt, then it was time for bed and a good night’s sleep.

Friday 19th August

It was our last day today, so we spent our time at the South Pier playing on the amusements and going on all of the rides. Leo, Michael and Charlene went on the Waltzer ride which they loved, and Michael went on a swinging ride that looked so fast! After enjoying our lunch, everyone bought their friends and carers little presents before heading back into the arcade for another game of the 2p machines. Charlene and Leo couldn’t stop winning! We had a great last evening, with Michael and Martin dancing until late.

Saturday 20th August

After packing our things and saying our goodbyes, it was time to make our way home. We all agreed to come back next year for another fabulous trip to Blackpool!
