Sunday 6th June

Everyone arrived safely with Jez. After a very long journey everyone was relieved to find their hotel rooms, unpack and relax a little. We all met up at 6pm for tea which was lovely. Most of us went for a walk to the South Pier, we played bingo and enjoyed some entertainment to finish the night off.

Monday 7th June

We spent the day exploring and had fun at the park. Firstly, we went on a tour of the Model Village. Then we took a quiz on the tour and did so well that we won a bag of sweets! Afterwards we walked around the beautiful park with “so many” birds, Phil found this challenging but was very brave. We went through the ‘Italian Garden’ to find a lovely cafe and had lunch. Then we continued touring the park, finishing on the bridge where Jez held a photoshoot! After our evening meal some of us went out to the Central Pier and we won loads of teddy bears, finishing the evening with some entertainment.

Tuesday 8th June

Today we walked down to the tower to enjoy a circus day. The weather was lovely, so we went shopping for sun hats and sun cream! We had lunch at Starbucks, and then everyone enjoyed the circus. The whole thing was brilliant! Finally, we walked back home, and everyone was tired in the evening, but we all managed a game or two of bingo.

Wednesday 9th June

It was time to visit Blackpool Zoo today, where there are lions and tigers! David loved the elephant, whereas Tania’s favourite was the penguins. It was another hot day, so we had a lovely lunch outside in the sunshine. The gorillas and the orangutans captivated all of us, especially King Louis!

Thursday 10th June

We booked a visit to Sea Life today. We had lunch outside Marks and Spencer’s, and a flock of pigeons harried us for our sandwiches, Sid the Seagull was the main culprit! Afterwards there was a trip up the huge lift to the top of the tower, Phil ‘The Lift Man’ had been waiting for this all holiday! The lift has windows inside and was decorated beautifully, but Jez and Jeanette got stuck and we had to call the engineer. Phil called today “the best day of my life!”.

Friday 11th June

Today we visited Madam T’s, and David loved the Two Ronnies. There were so many famous characters, it was great to have pictures taken by them! Janet vas very excited to meet Jack and Vera from Coronation Street, meanwhile Phil had a ball with the lifts inside. Tania was mesmerised by the celebrities from Strictly Come Dancing, whilst Stevie really enjoyed the singers’ performances in the evening, with lots of chair dancing and singing along.

Saturday 12th June

On Saturday we went to the funfair for our last morning. Nearly everyone won a teddy bear, and Tania was over the moon to buy a pink hoodie, it might have been better than the Tram ride she loved! ‘Lift Man’ Phil went for a dip in the sea, whilst David loved the horse and carriage ride. Afterwards we tucked into Maccy D’s for our lunch and finished off the day at the South Pier.

Sunday 13th June

Sadly, this was our last day of the holiday, but we all agreed we’d had a lovely trip, especially Janet who loved the zoo and even won at the bingo!
