Friday 22nd October

After a long journey to Blackpool, we all arrived at the Bonds Hotel. We enjoyed our dinner and watched the evening entertainment, before heading off to bed to get some rest.

Saturday 23rd October

After breakfast, we took a walk to South Pier. Some of our group played hook a duck and rode the dodgems. We enjoyed our lunch at a cafe on the pier and then had a walk by the seafront, the waves there were huge! In the evening after dinner, most of us went to watch the world firework championships. We stood by the promenade and could even see the tower illuminated by fireworks. Back at the hotel, we all enjoyed a dance at the evening entertainment.

Sunday 24th October

We took the tram to Central Pier after breakfast. We did some shopping for our Halloween costumes. The circus in the tower was our next stop, the wheel of death had us on the edge of our seats and we all agreed that the acrobats were amazing! After the show we visited the Sealife centre, we saw lots of beautiful fish, but the rays and turtles were definitely our favourites. Back at the hotel, after dinner we put on our costumes for the fancy dress party. Sadly, none of us won the prize but it was great fun! We enjoyed the entertainment and had another dance.

Monday 25th October

Today we took the tram down to North Pier, where we enjoyed our lunch in a lovely cafe whilst watching the waves. After lunch, we rode the lift 380ft to the top of the tower, it was so much fun standing on the glass platform and looking at the street below! The 4D cinema was really cool too! In the evening we played bingo and enjoyed the hotel’s entertainment.

Tuesday 26th October

Today we rode the tram all the way to Fleetwood. The large, indoor market was the perfect place to buy some souvenirs! We took the tram back to the hotel in time for dinner. Afterwards, we went out to see the illuminations on the tram. Getting off at the tower, we saw the festival of light and even the laser projection on the tower building. It was a great atmosphere and very pretty! Back at the hotel, we played some more bingo and Carol won the full house! Bill sang his favourite Elvis song, and we all enjoyed a dance.

Wednesday 27th October

Today we went out for lunch, enjoying our fish and chips on the promenade. We then visited Madame Tussauds. The wax models looked so realistic, and we had our photos taken with the Queen, Freddie Mercury and the Beatles! In the evening after dinner, we sang karaoke at the hotel and had a dance at the disco. Carole and Chris chose to go on a horse and carriage, Cinderella style through the illuminations, they said it was amazing!

Thursday 28th October

After breakfast, we all said goodbye and travelled home. Chris said, “I’ve had a great holiday, I can’t wait to come again!”.
