Sunday 29th August

On Sunday, we arrived at the hotel and settled into our rooms. We headed out a bit later to go out for a meal and meet each other properly. Zoe and Chrissie had met before so said hello and looked forward to another holiday together.

Monday 30th August

Today we headed out to the tank museum in Bobington after breakfast. There were loads of really old tanks and some newer ones. It was full of history, and we even sat inside an old bunker! We had some lunch and then explored the rest of the tanks and the history. We headed back to the hotel for a little rest then headed out later to go bowling and have dinner. Barry got 3 strikes and 2 spares which earned him joint first with Adrian who got a spare on almost every turn! Dinner was nice but we had to head back to our hotel where some of us went down to the bar for a few drinks.

Tuesday 31st August

In the morning after breakfast, we went to do some shopping in Poole town centre, and after we had a boat ride across Poole harbour - the world's second largest natural harbour. Both Lucy and Zoe had a go at driving the boat. We kept our eyes peeled for seals but unfortunately didn't see any. We did see a bird dive down and grab a fish and munch it on the ocean beside us. Meanwhile Adrian, Chrissie, Sandra and Peter did not go on the boat, so they had a walk around Poole Harbour and had some lunch. Later in the evening we had a meal out at a nice little restaurant just around the corner from our hotel.

Wednesday 1st September

This morning we went to Hengistbury Head to have a drink and watch the land train go around; it was a nice area. After we headed over to Portsmouth for lunch and to then go on into the historic port. After lunch we got to go on H.M.S victory. It was really cool and there were lots of cannons on board. We had an audio guide that we could scan as we went around and learned loads of cool facts about the ship. We got to walk all over the ship, from the poop deck to the hull. Afterwards we even got to walk underneath it. We had a wander round the yard and looked on the shops before it was time to head back for dinner. We decided we fancied a takeaway and got some yummy Chinese and pizzas.

Thursday 2nd September

Today was the start of the air festival. So, we packed our cameras and headed out for lunch just up from Boscombe pier. After we walked around and watched the show start. We saw the red arrows and "they were amazing" - Zoe. The spitfires came next along with a helicopter. We decided to walk along the beachfront looking at the stores and had a drink at a beach bar. As we were walking along a typhoon came out of nowhere! It was so loud and fast! After the air show we headed back to the hotel for a little bit to get ready and go out for a Toby carvery for dinner.

Friday 3rd September

Today we all wanted a swim so after breakfast we got our swimming costumes out and headed to the pool. Soon it was time for lunch, so we got out the pool and got dried and ready to go out. We had a wander through town looking for a cafe to eat at before heading into the air show again. There were all sorts of different planes, helicopters and parachute jumpers. The show really was amazing. But it was now time for dinner, and we fancied fish and chips.

Saturday 4th September

Today we thought we would take is slow as we were all tired from our exceptionally busy week. We settled on another dip in the hotel pool as we lounged and relaxed through lunchtime. We spent the evening playing games and really enjoyed our last meal together.

Sunday 5th September

It was time to pack our bags and make our way home today. The air show was so much fun, and we all really enjoyed going out to the pier and playing all of the games, what a fabulous trip to Bournemouth!
