Bournemouth Week 3 22nd to 28th August 2021

Sunday 22nd August

Sam drove the bus down to Bournemouth in time to be there to meet Adrian and Chrissie. After everyone had settled in their rooms and unpacked, we took a drive to a local restaurant for a nice meal.

Monday 23rd August

Today we decided to go to Poole. The first shop we went to was a fabulous spiritual haven called the Happy Buddha where Adrian and Chrissie bought beautiful multicoloured friendship bracelets. We then went to Poole Museum which was very interesting but not as interesting as the good carrot cake that Adrian had!

Tuesday 24th August

Another visit to Poole today, this time we had fish and chips by the sea and went on an amazing boat trip.

Wednesday 25th August

We went down to the beach and had lunch al fresco before visiting the Oceanarium. Chrissie loved the large stingray. Adrian’s favourite was the giant turtle. Jane bought a cuddly penguin who has no name.

Thursday 26th August

One of our holiday makers, Jane, loves owls so we went to Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre where we saw a live display of owls and other birds of prey. Adrian was not impressed with the reptile house though. Especially the large snakes! Toby Carvery was the vote for our evening meal. Delicious!

Friday 27th August

Today we took the steam train from Norden to Swanage. We spent the whole day browsing the shops and everyone bought something lovely. It was a long day, and everyone fell asleep on the way back.

Saturday 28th August

Time to say a sad farewell to Jane as she caught the taxi home. The rest of us took a slow walk into Bournemouth town centre along the river, more shopping! Then a leisurely walk to the sea front for lunch. Followed by some fun in the pier amusement arcade.
