Monday 23rd May

We arrived at Butlins, in Bognor Regis at approximately 4:30pm. We settled into our chalets and got to know everyone on the holiday. After unpacking and having our welcome meeting we had a takeaway meal of fish and chips, yum! A good start to our holiday! Some of the group wanted to relax in their chalet whilst everyone else decided to watch the evening entertainment. There was a band and a late-night disco for this evening’s entertainment.

Tuesday 24th May

After breakfast in the chalet, Janet wanted to stay and relax. The rest of the group headed off to the fun fair. There was a chance to try your luck on things like ‘hook a duck’, lucky darts and we actually won a prize! Some decided to be daredevils and go on the rides like the waltzers, dodgems and other fairground rides. The rest of us had fun watching them, we cheered them on! After lunch we relaxed for a while before some of the ladies went shopping. Later everyone enjoyed the performance which was ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’ We then went to The Beachcomber Inn within the Butlin’s complex, dinner there was great. Then we watched an ABBA tribute show which was fantastic. We enjoyed singing along and then dancing along to a disco later, what a fun day!

Wednesday 25th May

Today once we had eaten breakfast, we all went to see a show. It was based around Thomas the Tank Engine, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We had lunch and then went on to play Ten pin bowling. We split into two teams between boys and girls. Everyone enjoyed the games and two even got a ‘strike.’ After bowling we went for a lovely meal in the ‘diner’. There was a chance to meet and have your photo taken with Peppa Pig! The next show we saw was called High School Rock. In the evening, some went to ‘Reds’ to watch the live band and listen to D.J. Sammy.

Thursday 26th May

Today four of the group wanted to go swimming and Katie thought it was really fun. Jade and Jordan went for a game of pool which ended in a draw. Some of the group relaxed for the morning as all the activities during the week had tired them out. After lunch everyone went for a coffee in ‘Skyline’. Our dinner for our last meal out was in the Beachcomber Inn, the food was delicious. Afterwards everyone decided to go to ‘Reds’ where we watched the red coat quiz and entertainment. The last big show of the week was a ‘Queen’ tribute band, they were amazing. Everyone was incredibly happy that they had gone out for the last night.

Friday 27th May

After breakfast everyone collected their belongings and made their way home. They all said what a great holiday it had been. Katie wants to come back; Annabel loved the ABBA show and Chris enjoyed making new friends, it was such a great trip!
