Devon Delight 1st to 6th May 2022
Sunday 1st May
Everyone was very excited to start their holiday in Devon. Upon arriving at the hotel, we settled into our rooms, they were lovely! We spent a bit of time unpacking and getting ready for dinner. Then we headed to the restaurant and were met with a buffet of all kinds of food! After dinner we planned our activities for Monday and headed to bed as it had been a long day of traveling.
Monday 2nd May
After breakfast we had a quick look around the hotel. It was huge! We then headed over to the games room to play some table tennis and badminton. We also played on the golf simulator, the football simulator, and a game of pool. Badminton was hard work, so we went for a drink and some lunch. After lunch we went to our rooms to get our swimming costumes as we were heading to the hydro pools. They were amazing! The water was lovely and warm and there were lots of different air jets and bubbles we could try. One even gave a nice massage! We also relaxed in the hot tubs and had a quick swim. After spending some time in the hydro pools, we made our way back to get dried and dressed for dinner. After dinner we spent some time exploring again and found a hidden games room with a brand-new bar billiards table, John set it up and taught us to play!
Tuesday 3rd May
Today we were heading over to the second hotel to make our own teddies. So, after breakfast we got in the hotel bus and went over. It was great fun and we all made different teddies. After this activity we played some pool and got drinks. Later in the day we had archery and rifle shooting planned. Andrew was a natural Robin Hood! After dinner we went bowling. It started to get late, so we went back to our rooms as we had a busy day planned for tomorrow.
Wednesday 4th May
After breakfast we felt like playing some pool, so we went to the pool hall, it was huge! There were at least 20 tables and we had it all to ourselves! We played lots of pool, before heading over to the craft rooms for silk painting. Claire painted some penguins; Robert painted a garden and both John and Andrew painted a jubilee suncatcher. It was now time for lunch, so we grabbed drinks at the bar and sat down for lunch. After lunch we went back to the games room, it was becoming a favourite of ours. Claire went out ice skating and had a good boogie on the ice with the booming music! We played some more pool and skittles before getting ready for dinner. After dinner we went straight back to the bowling alley!
Thursday 5th May
Today was our last day before we headed home. It had gone by so quickly. We decide it was best to fill our day and do as much as possible. We filled the morning with a 3D card making activity and a quick visit to the games room for the last time, Clare went for a massage. After lunch we then had pottery transfers and resin art where we made some really cool beach scenes. After dinner we wanted to go back in the games room one last time before our trip home tomorrow.
Friday 6th May
Today we were going home so we made our way to breakfast and spoke about our holiday. John's favourite part was playing pool with Andrew, Clare loved her massage and Robert liked making the 3D cards. We got in the bus; said our goodbyes and we travelled back home; it was a really nice trip!
