Sunday 18th September

Arriving at the Ashbury hotel, we settled into our rooms. Everyone got to know each other at the welcome meeting & we enjoyed a lovely buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant. A few of the group were tired from the journey, but the rest of us went over to the Manor Hotel to watch the evening entertainment. The singer was great & we all enjoyed a little dance to round off the evening!

Monday 19th September

Today was Queens Elizabeth's funeral. The majority of the group chose to watch the funeral on TV in the hotel lounge area. Emily, Danielle & Jade went to the pool.  Danielle & Jade enjoyed swimming in the pool, the jacuzzi & sauna. Emily, put on her mermaid tail and snorkel and enjoyed swimming lengths of the pool. In the afternoon, Emily, Peter & Caroline went to play archery with Jade. Emily was the winner & won a prize, having her certificate put on the wall! Stephen, Jordan, Chrissie & Carolyn went to the Manor Hotel to enjoy the spa. The facilities there were amazing, and everyone enjoyed themselves! In the evening, after a buffet dinner everyone chilled in the hotel games room. We played X-box, tabletop football & air hockey, before heading to bed for a good night’s sleep.

Tuesday 20th September

This morning, Jordan, Peter, Caroline, Emily & Danielle went to the block printing craft class. They designed their own bags, aprons & tea towels, it was really enjoyable! Chrissie & Stephen chose to go to the Bollywood dance class with Jade. It was great fun; good exercise & they learnt some new moves! After lunch, everyone had a game of ten-pin bowling. Everyone played really well & we had quite a few strikes within the teams. In the evening, after a buffet dinner, Chrissie, Caroline, Stephen, Emily, Jordan & Jade went over to the Manor Hotel to watch the evening entertainment. The singer was great & the dance floor was packed all night long!

Wednesday 21st September

Jordan challenged Carolyn to a game of table tennis today. Meanwhile, the rest of the group went with Jade to play mini golf in the sunshine! After lunch, Danielle & Caroline went to the mosaic craft class, whilst Jordan, Stephen, Emily & Chrissie had a go at pottery transfers. Emily chose to decorate her own egg cups and the others decorated mugs to take home. In the evening, after dinner, some of the group went over to the Manor Hotel to watch the Johnny Cash tribute act!

Thursday 22nd September

This morning, Jordan, Stephen & Danielle chose to relax in the hydro-spa. Everyone loved the bubbles, steam room and sauna! Meanwhile Emily, Chrissie & Caroline chose to go ten-pin bowling again. After lunch, we all headed over to the Manor for our craft classes! Jordan & Emily chose 3D art, layering tissue paper over their chosen bottles & boxes to create a great 3D effect. Chrissie, Caroline, Danielle, Peter & Stephen made their own Teddy bears, stuffing them, giving them a heart and outfits to wear! Everyone was so happy with their new teddies to take home. We were all feeling tired after a busy week and chose to have an early night after dinner.

Friday 23rd September

After breakfast, we all travelled home & said our goodbyes to the new friends we had made. We all agreed that we’d had a fabulous trip to Devon, what a lovely holiday with Options!
