Saturday 1st August

Everyone was really looking forward to their holiday to Great Yarmouth today! We all met up and got to know each other, before relaxing and getting a good night’s sleep before our busy week!

Sunday 2nd August

Today we went shopping to look for some souvenirs. Stephen bought a wallet, Carol got a doll called ‘Spud’, a watch and a bracelet, Gill found some candles and clothes for her friends & family, whilst Paul found a lovely book about Norfolk. Afterwards we had a really nice pub lunch. We made our way back to the hotel, and after dinner we all enjoyed the live musical entertainment, ‘Deano’ the singer even came over to have a photo with us!

Monday 3rd August

We went to visit Thrigby Hall today, we saw lots of animals like crocodiles, monkeys and even tigers! We had a lovely time; Carol was very happy with her new toy hedgehog called Harry, whilst Susan decided on a toy tiger, along with some colouring books and pencils. Darren got a meerkat coffee mug and Gill bought a guidebook; everyone was happy leaving the gift shop! Afterwards we enjoyed an ice cream sitting in the shade, it was very hot. On the way home in the minibus we all sang ABBA songs together, it was great! Stephen nearly stole the show with a win at bingo after dinner, but unfortunately someone called “House” before he got his final number.

Tuesday 4th August

Today we went for a walk along the promenade. We had a nice lunch, followed by some more shopping. Stephen bought his girlfriend some perfume and Carol got a beautiful unicorn called Nelson. Susan found a colouring card and some nougat, whilst Gill decided on perfume too. Later on in the evening, Carol and Susan played some bingo, then we all enjoyed a Cliff Richard tribute act.

Wednesday 5th August

We started our day off with a train ride to the Model Village today. It took us along the promenade which was really fun! The village was really good, then we went for some lunch followed by even more souvenir shopping! Carol bought a doll named Pam and Susan got Bingo the sausage dog. Our lovely waited called Chris even joined in with the fun, buying Paul a Norwich City backpack, Paul was so happy! We finished off the day with some ice cream, before having a great night listening and dancing to the hotel’s singer.

Thursday 6th August

Today we went to the Time & Tide Museum. It showed fishing throughout the ages in Great Yarmouth, we found it really interesting, and we learned a lot! After lunch, Stephen, Gill and Carol enjoyed a lovely ride on a horse drawn carriage! It was great fun, we managed to get a photo with our horse (who was called Regent) and Peter the driver. We were waving as we rode along, just like the Queen!

Friday 7th August

We took a trip to the Sealife Centre today! There were lots of different types of sea creatures there, we saw jellyfish, starfish, stingrays, penguins and even an octopus! It was really good, Stephen managed to get close to some of the sea urchins too, whereas Gill liked the jellyfish best, she took lots of photos. After dinner we cheered on our hotel’s singer, we all thought Tracey was really good. To end the night, everyone played some bingo. Paul was the star as he managed to get £40 after winning twice!

Saturday 8th August

Today we travelled home after a really great trip. We all enjoyed our holiday to Great Yarmouth and can’t wait to show our family & friends our souvenirs!
