Warners Lakeside 17th to 22nd November 2021
Wednesday 17th November
We arrived at the holiday resort quite late on in the evening, so we all settled into our rooms and then went for a lovely dinner. It was really nice, and we all enjoyed getting to know each other over the 3 courses. Then it was off to bed to get some rest, we were really excited for our holiday activities!
Thursday 18th November
After a large breakfast we went to visit a Christmas fair. We all managed to win prizes of candy canes and chocolates by throwing ping-pong balls into cups, throwing a turkey onto a plate perfectly, and sucking cotton wool snowballs through a straw and into a bowl. We didn’t drop any, it was really impressive! After the games we went to see a pantomime of Little Red Riding Hood, before playing some snooker, darts and ping-pong. We had a lovely dinner in the evening and watched the artist performing songs and dances. We danced all night long and saw an early New Years in, it was great fun!
Friday 19th November
After breakfast, we all boarded the minibus and went into Portsmouth to visit the Mary Rose Museum. We had a very interesting time, finding out all aspects of the Mary Rose Ship, it was huge! We also learned about the crew and how long it took to bring it up from the seabed, what was discovered and the timeline from its sinking to its retrieval. We managed to see lots of objects from the ship that were over 500 years old, it was amazing! We spent our evening dancing to the Cabaret, we all agreed that we’d had a fantastic day.
Saturday 20th November
Today we tried archery and shooting, some of us had never tried it before and it was really fun, we all scored well! Then, after lunch we all went swimming. Tracey could swim like a fish! Afterwards, we sat in the lounge and watched a football game. We finished the evening playing some picture bingo together, it was Christmas themed, and we all got into the festive spirit!
Sunday 21st November
We visited a Donkey Sancturary today, there were 22 donkeys there who were all rescued from working on the beach where they were badly treated. A donkey called Charlie Brown let out a very loud noise when we walked away from him! We then bought some keyrings, postcards, fridge magnets and coats as souvenirs. We had our last boogie on the dancefloor this evening before heading to our rooms to pack.
Monday 22nd November
We said goodbye to Warners Lakeside today, we all agreed that we’d had a fab time! We began to make our way home, after saying goodbye to Charlie.
