Bournemouth Young and Fun 31st July to 7th August 2022

Sunday 31st July

After arriving at the hotel, we all checked in to our rooms, unpacked and had a welcome meeting. After getting to know each other we enjoyed dinner at the hotel. Some of us played pool and then watched a movie in the bar afterwards, before getting a good night's sleep.

Monday 1st August

Today, after breakfast we headed to Boscombe Pier, where we read about the history of the pier and played with the musical instruments available for everyone on the pier. Then for lunch we enjoyed our meal at the Harvester pub, while taking in some great sea views. Some of the group went to sunbathe on the beach, we hired deck chairs and an umbrella. There was a chance to have a paddle in the sea and time to enjoy a drink in the beach bar. It was the first time Cecilia had been on a beach in years! The accessible wheelchair we hired was pretty cool. Some of us went for a long walk down the promenade, towards Bournemouth Pier. We then went on the pier, took in the sea views on the big wheel and came back on the land train to meet the others. Everyone enjoyed ice-cream in the sun. The evening meal was enjoyable at the hotel, followed by a music quiz!

Tuesday 2nd August

We drove to Poole Quay to go on board the dolphin boat trip! We enjoyed a relaxing sail to Wareham, through the reeds. It was fun eating lunch on the boat and we met some interesting people. Then once back in Poole, we enjoyed ice-cream and some gift shopping. Time for a much welcomed relax in the afternoon to recharge and then we were ready to go! We travelled to the Hollywood Bowl and enjoyed dinner, drinks & bowling, what a great day!

Wednesday 3rd August

Today we decided on a shopping day and whilst out we had time for a coffee. The ladies hit the shops and bought lots of new clothes! Hayden chose to treat herself and have her nails done at a nail bar. In the afternoon part of the group went to watch the new Troy, Marvel movie. Meanwhile the others went to watch the new Super Pets movie, they all said it was very funny. We all met up once the movie had finished to enjoy dinner at Pizza Express. Hayden said, “Thank you, I've had the best day"!

Thursday 4th August

This morning after relaxing at the hotel, we went for lunch at the Tuckton Tea Gardens in Christchurch by the river Avon. We had great views of the boats and stand-up paddle boarders. After our lunch had settled, we went to the fun fair at Christchurch. We all had so much fun! Most of the girls went on the dodgems. They had great fun bumping into each other! Hayden and Jess loved all the rides and went on the biggest and fastest rides there!

Friday 5th August

Today, we walked from the hotel down to the Oceanarium and enjoyed seeing all the fish, sharks, turtles, and eels. It was cool walking through the tunnel, with all the fish swimming over our head! We enjoyed watching the penguins being fed and hearing about them from the feeder. Then we took lunch outside at the prom cafe and enjoyed ice-cream in the sun. Afterwards, Jen, Grace, Hayden & Jess went on the red arrow stimulator flying machine. Everyone had fun in the arcades, racing and winning prizes. In the evening, we walked down to the end of the pier for dinner at sunset at the Key West Restaurant. We enjoyed dinner, drinks & watching the live music. While walking back to the hotel, we had the best view of the fireworks from the East Cliff.

Saturday 6th August

Some of the group spent time at the beach, splashing in the sea. It was great fun! Meanwhile the rest of the group went shopping in town. We all met for lunch, at ‘Pret a Manger’ cafe. After lunch, some of the group took a ride on the zip wire ride at the pier and they flew over everyone's heads and landed on the beach. We raced each other to the shore! The ‘Pier Zip’ is the world’s first pier to shore zip wire, boasting a 250-metre dual zip wire. In the evening, we enjoyed dinner at sunset at El Murriko's, one of the beach bars. When the sun went down, they gave us all snuggly blankets to keep warm. The D.J. was great, he kept playing our requests and we danced along on the stage and in the sand!

Sunday 7th August

After breakfast, we all said goodbye and travelled our separate ways home. Everyone said they had enjoyed a really fun holiday. Grace thought the best part of the holiday had been the karaoke and the funfair, what an amazing trip to Bournemouth!
