Bespoke Center Parcs October

Monday 26th October

Jade picked Hayden up at 11:00am from home. They were looking forward to the holiday. There was a stop at the services for a coffee and lunch. They chose to visit the lovely town of Keswick, with a little bit of time to do some shopping. Later in the afternoon, they arrived at Centre Parcs. They picked up their hire bicycles and settled into their lodge.

Tuesday 27th October

An early start this morning ready for a bike ride around the forest, within the parc. We saw wild rabbits and red squirrels as we rode around. We then took a walk through the forest. We loved the tree top adventure where we stepped out of our comfort zone to swing through the trees at a 2 meters height! Then we went swimming, we loved the fast water slides and chilling in the pool. After the pool we went shopping. We had lunch and then we went Ten Pin Bowling and had 2 games of pool. Hayden said, “I have enjoyed the freedom of being able to leave areas or activities when I felt I needed to.” In the evening we went out to an Indian restaurant chain for a meal. The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere. After our meal we had 2 more games of pool. We were a little tired after our busy day, so we went to relax in our lodge. Hayden said, “Today was amazing, I loved the day and being able to make choices and learn to trust people.”

Wednesday 28th October

Today Hayden had a lie in, her first time in a while. She was glad to relax and have time to read her book after a great night’s sleep. After a nice cup of tea, we fed the ducks by the lake. Hayden decided to change some of her pre-booked activities and luckily the ‘guest services’ allowed us to do this. Today was a visit to The Spa with different experiences such as reflexology bath for the feet, Japanese salt spa, Greek herbal spa and an Indian smoke box experience. There was the heated outdoor pool and hydro pool. We had a free product demonstration and tested products on our skin. We did some grocery shopping on site and prepared our meal together; a pasta bake with garlic bread. Hayden enjoyed being shown how to cook a healthy vegetarian meal. There was a chance to go shopping and buy some gifts. Hayden thought the shop was nice and quiet and relaxing to shop in. We went on the electric boat after buying some gifts along with a Halloween doughnut. Later we went to Bella Italia for our evening meal, it was very nice.

Thursday 29th October

This morning we fed the ducks at 7:30am. Then we went to play table tennis. Hayden enjoyed playing this but found the bright lights gave her a bit of a headache. So, we went on to have a latte and chose an iced pumpkin spice Frappuccino at the Starbucks, on site. Then we went swimming and had fun racing each other on the water slides and found a nice outdoor heated pool. Lunch was eaten next to the pool. Later we had a short bike ride and then took our bikes back to the hire office. We had an Indian takeaway delivered to our chalet for dinner.

Friday 30th October

Another early wake up this morning. We had a bit of a clean-up and packed up our car ready for the journey home. We decided we would head straight back home. On the way home we stopped at Penrith and had a little look around where we saw the ruins of Penrith Castle. Our next stop along the journey was at a Farm Shop Services where we stopped for a coffee by a lake. Hayden enjoyed a McDonald’s meal for her lunch. “It had been a wonderful holiday where I could feel relaxed and make my own choices and enjoy the activities I wanted to. Jade had been a great person to share the holiday with.”
