Christmas Crafts 7th to 11th December 2020

Monday 7th December

We all arrived, then unpacked and got settled into what was to be our new home for the holiday. After getting to know one another and after our meal we watched a demonstration on how to decorate a Christmas chocolate log with butter icing. We all got to choose a decoration to put on top of the cake.

Tuesday 8th December

We are treating today on the holiday as ‘our’ Christmas eve. In the morning we visited the near by town of Cirencester with its many shops, quaint buildings and impressive church. We were able to shop for our ‘secret Santa’ presents. Once we had finished our shopping, we went back to our holiday home for lunch. After lunch we had fun making mince pies. All of us dipped strawberries and grapes in chocolate, we were going to have these for our dessert later. We wrapped the presents after we had our evening meal. Then everyone helped to decorate the Christmas tree. We put our presents under the tree ready for tomorrow!

Wednesday 9th December

Today is ‘our’ Christmas day on the holiday. After breakfast we all made cards, then we went upstairs to open our ’secret Santa’ presents. We had a delicious big Christmas dinner, afterwards we were all very full. A little later we learnt to make mince pies and then we played Christmas bingo for chocolate prizes. In the evening, we travelled to The Barn Theatre to see the production of ‘Peter Pan’. After a lovely evening at the theatre, we came home for dinner.

Thursday 10th December

This morning we all took part in making cookies. In the afternoon we learnt how to make jam jar tea light holders and decorated them in the colours we wanted. Later, once it was dark, we visited Sudeley Castle to see the ‘Spectacle of light’ the lights were so pretty in the illuminated trail. Once back at our holiday home and after our dinner we decorated our biscuits before packing our cases ready for tomorrow.

Friday 11th December

It was time to go home. We all had breakfast and then said our goodbyes before making our way home.
