Sunday 16th August

We arrived at the hotel and settled into our rooms. Then we had our evening meal followed by the entertainment at the hotel. It was a singer and bingo this evening. Everyone was tired after our journey to the holiday and we all went to bed.

Monday 17th August

What a lovely chance to take our first walk along the sea front and the pier this morning. There were lovely blue skies with just a few small clouds today, what a great start to the holiday. We then went for a look around the town. We took our lunch in a café sitting outside as the weather was so nice and then we walked back to the hotel. In the evening after our meal, we played bingo.

Tuesday 18th August

We took an interesting visit to the “Time and Tide Museum” today. Here we saw exhibits showing the importance of the herring industry, a display with information all about the Titanic along with some interactive displays. There was also a seasonal display of The Star Wars figures which some of the group really enjoyed! At lunch time we had a lovely meal on the sea front in a pub style café.

Wednesday 19th August

Today we walked to The Sea life Centre where we saw the fish and creatures, some of which were penguins, crocodiles, rays and tropical ocean displays. The penguins were popular along with a large sea turtle. We could touch the star fish with our hands. That was great fun! We strolled back to our hotel and later in the evening we enjoyed the entertainment at the hotel, tonight it was a singer and Bingo.

Thursday 20th August

We travelled to the town of Norwich today where we visited the medieval cathedral with its ornate cloisters and grand entrance. We also walked around part of the town, there are parts that have cobbled streets and medieval buildings. In the evening back at the hotel the entertainment tonight was a singer and bingo.

Friday 21st August

This morning we had a ride along the sea front in a beautiful horse drawn carriage in the style of a Disney film. Carol gave the horse, called Star a pat to say thank you at the end of our ride. We then went for a walk around the venetian waterways where there was an ornate garden and boating lake along with canals. We found it very peaceful in the garden and the water in the second part was very blue. We took a nice photograph of the group standing on an ornate bridge over the water. Later, we played bingo and listened to the singer this evening.

Saturday 22nd August

Today we went to Thrigby Hall Wildlife Park. Everyone really enjoyed their visit. We walked around one loop of the park and had lunch at the picnic tables on the lawn. The highlights of the day were the top walks where we saw the tigers, apes and monkeys.  Along with The Swamp House and The Forest House. The ice creams we ate before nipping into the gift shop were also pretty enjoyable!
