Monday 8th August

We all met up at the airport, for some it was their first holiday and for others we were meeting old friends. It was not a very long flight, and we were soon in Stockholm where we made our way to the hotel. After unpacking we went out for a delicious dinner and a few drinks, what a great start to our Swedish adventure!

Tuesday 9th August

Today we headed into Stockholm to have a look round. We explored the city on an open top bus, it was a glorious sunny day! We saw the Royal Palace in the old town, the Royal Treasury and Stockholm Cathedral. We relaxed in the park and looked round a few shops, it was a lovely introduction to Stockholm and the city’s culture.

Wednesday 10th August

Today we had an amazing day at the ABBA museum. We enjoyed looking at all the different costumes, singing along with ABBA on stage in an interactive experience! They had lots of memorabilia such as instruments, fan letters, photos, and furniture; there was just so much to see. After buying lots of gifts and souvenirs in the shop we certainly walked in and danced out! In the evening after dinner, some of us chose to have an early night whilst others went out for cocktails at a cocktail bar.

Thursday 11th August

Today we went on an archipelago boat trip, Stockholm is built on 14 islands with 57 bridges, we got to see all the exciting places such as the Vasa Museum with the sunken ship and a view of the Royal Palace from the water. In the evening we went out to a karaoke restaurant where we booked our own private room and sang along to our favourite ABBA (and many other) songs. We all really enjoyed ourselves especially stopping for pudding on the way back to our hotel!

Friday 12th August

Today we went to see the changing of the guards at the Royal Palace, it was very impressive. We also visited the Viking Museum which showed us a lot of the history of Sweden. We then all wanted to go shopping to get some last-minute gifts and souvenirs. In the evening we went out to a wonderful restaurant and nightclub called Golden Hits that played a lot of the music we all liked. It was a great evening, but we were all very tired as we have had a busy time here.

Saturday 13th August

All too soon our holiday was over, we have had an amazing time and made some new friends and meet up with old.  We are all looking forward to our next holiday sometime soon, what a great trip with Options!
