Saturday 17th September

We all set off from the Travelodge today, everyone was really excited to begin the holiday! It was a very early start at 2:30 am to catch our flight to Malta, but we got plenty of sleep on the journey! We arrived in Malta’s hot sunshine just in time for lunch, before spending our afternoon sunning by the pool. After enjoying our dinner, we watched the karaoke and Chris even got up to sing ‘lady in red’, we were all very impressed!

Sunday 18th September

Today we started off with a tasty breakfast, before deciding to take it easy and relax at the hotel’s private beach. Richard swam for over four hours! We all had our lunch poolside, there were lots of games played and we all got to know each other, it was really fun! Later on in the evening, we walked over to the Porto Terrace to watch the fabulous singer. What a lovely day.

Monday 19th September

We planned to go on a tour today, we were all looking forward to exploring the local area and getting out into the sunshine! We first took the coach to a tour boat and made our way on board, the sea looked really beautiful. After arriving in Gozo, we took the open top bus to visit the Citadella and saw all of the incredible views! Back on the boat, we headed to Comino to see the famous Blue Lagoon. We all agreed that the water was so beautiful and clear, you could see really far down!

Tuesday 20th September

We were all tired from our massive exploration yesterday, so we chose to have a relaxing day on the beach today! We topped up our suntan’s and caught up on some sleep, then we had our lunch. Teresa was really brave and went for a swim in the sea, we were all cheering her on! Richard swam in the sea all day; he really loved the water in this weather! We finished our evening with a lovely dinner, before enjoying the entertainment at the hotel.

Wednesday 21st September

Today we visited the Masta Dome and saw the 'unexploded bomb, it was so interesting to learn about its history and to see it in person! We then went to visit the craft village of Ta’ Qali, it was filled with beautiful and unique Maltese artifacts. We bought some stunning silver jewellery and saw some glass blowing, it was a fantastic experience! Afterwards, we watched Alex entertain us with some great songs, we celebrated all night long.

Thursday 22nd September

It was Chris’s birthday today! He was really excited to celebrate, so we gave him our cards and the whole restaurant sang him happy birthday! The birthday cake was really tasty, we all really enjoyed that treat. It was a little rainy today, but luckily our hotel had a fantastic indoor pool where we could swim and play games!

Friday 23rd September

Today we went on a bus journey to buy some souvenirs, we all wanted to get some gifts for our loved ones and make some memories together. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in Mellieha, one of the northernmost villages of the main island which overlooks Malta's largest sandy beach called Melliena Bay. The views there were spectacular, and after a last trip to the beach we went back to the hotel to enjoy our last night of entertainment!

Saturday 24th September

Sadly, today it was time to make our way home and leave the sunshine of Malta behind. As we gathered our things and said goodbye, we all agreed that it had been a lovely holiday and we’d definitely want to come back another time!
