Friday 17th July

We all met up to travel down to our holiday cottage.  When we arrived up a bumpy road following a hare leaping din the road, we all thought the cottages are lovely.  We all enjoyed tea, coffee and cake in the beautiful garden before sorting out our rooms and unpacking.  Kirstine went off to the nearest town for a delicious fish and chip shop supper

Saturday 18th July

Today after our delicious home cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs in the garden we set off for the day to Wimborne Model village.  It was lovely to look round as we followed a quiz.  We all enjoyed controlling the trains.

Sunday 19th July

This morning Bill chose to have a lie in, while Rita and Peter chose to go to Church with Jez.  We had a lovely Sunday Roast chicken dinner with rice pudding.  That afternoon we went out to a local pub garden for a drink and played table tennis in the garden at the cottages.

Monday 20th July

Today we went to the seaside, we visited Boscombe beach.  We sat on the pier and enjoyed watching people playing in the sea.  We had a picnic and some of use enjoyed an ice cream or a coffee.  We had a look round the shops and got various gifts and souvenirs.  It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone said they enjoyed their day.  We come home for dinner and then some people chose to go to the supermarket.

Tuesday 21st July

Today we visited Honey Brook farm and saw lots of fam animals, sheep, pigs, goats and the guinea pigs were very cute.  We enjoyed a picnic lunch watching children enjoying the go karts.  We came home and played some bingo and then close to relax and watch a movie.

Wednesday 22nd July

Today we visited Liberty’ owl, raptor and reptile sanctuary.  We had a great day.  We saw large Koi karp in the pond, lots of birds of prey, owls, hawks, falcons and vultures.  We went  in the reptile house so see snakes and spiders.  We enjoyed the flying demonstration , watching Liberty the eagle fly and land on the keeper arm.  The owls were beautiful and flew very close to our heads.  There was a tortoise trying to climb the wall and he was our favorite.  We brought nice gifts in the shop.

Thursday 23rd July

We visited the botanic gardens of Keyneston Mill, where they grow, harvest and distil unusual plants and ingredients to make luxury perfumes. We enjoyed a walk through the wonderfully scented, beautiful gardens. Followed by a relaxing picnic & drinks from the cafe outside, surrounded by the countryside. 

Keith chose to relax for the day at the cottage.

In the evening we went out for a pub meal, it was a nice evening to sit in the large beer garden. The food was excellent and we enjoyed a drink. It was a great ending to our lovely holiday. 

Bill chose not to join us, he wanted to relax back at the cottage.

Friday 24th July

We were sad to go home as we had all had a great holiday and are looking forward to going away again next year
