Sunday 20th September

After we all met in Swindon, we travelled down to The Manor House Hotel, in Okehampton. We all thought that the hotel was very nice. We found our rooms, got settled and unpacked our cases. Then we enjoyed dinner in the dining room and then signed up for the activities and classes that we had chosen to do tomorrow.

Monday 21st September

After breakfast, the girls joined the craft class and made their own cards, using crystals. Michelle said she loved it! John and Andrew chose to play adventure golf with Jude. It was fun, some of the holes were tough. We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. In the afternoon after lunch some decided to play Tenpin bowling. Sarah went for a swim with Heather. The other ladies chose to relax in their rooms. Sarah enjoyed a relax in the hot bubble spa. After dinner everyone enjoyed watching a movie in the cinema room. The film was “David Copperfield”.

Tuesday 22nd September

After breakfast, the ladies and Jade headed off to the Bollywood Dancing Class. Where they learnt all the dance moves and had so much fun and laughed a lot during the class. The gentlemen made wooden house plaques in their woodwork class.  After another lovely lunch Jade and Andrew went to the lino printing craft class and made unique gift cards. Andrew said, “I enjoyed the lino printing class, it’s good to learn something new”. Some of the ladies used their free time to finish off their cards. Then most of the group stuffed their own teddy bear, some lovely cuddly souvenirs to take home from the holiday. We all enjoyed watching tonight’s cinema movie. The film was “Yesterday” with all the greatest hits from the band ‘The Beatles’. We enjoyed singing along to the songs, they are so well known. A couple decided to go along to watch the evening entertainer a Neil Diamond tribute act.

Wednesday 23rd September

This morning three of the ladies had a complimentary treatment at the spa. Lucy said, “My aromatherapy massage was very relaxing.” Michele loved the Swedish massage and Sarah thought the back and shoulder massage was very nice. Some of the group went to a porcelain transfer painting class. Karen thoroughly enjoyed this class. After lunch almost everyone did glass painting. There was a chance to paint bottles and put fairy lights in them which made them look very pretty. Sarah chose to continue making her crystal card with Heather. Afterwards, some went swimming and had a nice soak in the spa. After dinner, the ladies chose to watch the acoustic lady singer and have a drink. The gents went to the cinema to watch a movie. Lucy said, “It’s been a fantastic day!”

Thursday 24th September

This morning John tried archery for the first time. He really enjoyed it and after a few attempts became a pro, hitting the target! Everyone went to the fabric printing art class and chose their own item to print. We had some great creations; Sarah printed a tea towel. Karen and Lucy printed a bag and a T-shirt. Lucy said,” This was my favorite class today!” After lunch we all chose to go to the decoupage class. Everyone chose an item to cover in colourful tissue paper. A creative group with some fun and colorful pieces. At dinner tonight we celebrated 2 birthdays! Andrew and Karen had a big surprise when their birthday cake arrived. We all sang Happy Birthday to them. Then we enjoyed a sing along and a dance to Bohemian Rhapsody the movie at the cinema. Lucy said,” It’s been a really good holiday, I’ve loved it. Thank you for everything.”
